I'm bad at photo-a-day...

So, I've not been keeping up very well with the dates of my photos.  It's been kinda hard figuring it out with the time change.  So.... I think for the remainder of this trip, unless I know for sure what the date was, I will forgo the dates for a bit.

I'm not sure what date this was, but it was the first day that there were any clouds in the sky.  There haven't really been any clouds since.

Every one just wants to fit in.  On this saturday I went out with some friends and our host families to have drinks on the plaza.  It was such a nice evening.  All the young children get to come out too, and they take over the plaza in games of futbol and tag.

7.3.11

Snack break.  Class is in the mornings and we have a break for an hour in the middle.  Cafe con leche and tortilla española were usually the snacks of choice.  Tortilla española is like the love child of a quiche and an omelette.  It's just eggs and potatoes all cooked into one delicious little breakfast pie.  I ate this combination nearly every day.  It's easily my favorite.

We had to research and give tours about Trujillo as a group project.  One group had the city castle as one of their sites.

7.4.11
Francisco de Pizarro was from Trujillo.  A giant statue of him graces the plaza.

There were many sites on the plaza that were part of the tours.

There has been two German couples staying in Trujillo recently.  One of the women is so stylish I can hardly handle it.  One day she wore a white dress with red lipstick, red classic Ray-Ban sunglasses, red shoes, and red nails.  Talk about a committed accessorizer.  Sadly, I couldn't get any flattering pictures of her.  But in the pictures that I did manage, she's making some pretty funny faces.

On our excursion to Caceres we went to a museum with many old artifacts from Spain.  I saw these old castanets and fell in love with them.

The bell tower in one of the churches in Caceres.

Some of the medieval churches we visited were still to this day extremely dark inside, true medieval style.

Thanks for helping me take pictures Milo!

And now one with Milo!

This was the Church of Guadalupe in Guadalupe, Spain.  We were only allowed to take pictures outside in the courtyard.  This area really reminded me of The Fall.

Accidental long exposure of the Roman theater in Merida, but I think it still turned out pretty cool.

All dressed up and cute.

The theater at night.
