Life in Black and White

Daniel's pa let us borrow his old Pentax film camera, so we've been playing around with it and having some fun.  Here's some pictures from our first roll.

Me and my best friend Thor.

Taking a break from practicing on the half-pipe for flamenco final.

Santi, our neighbor and friend, came over to borrow the drill for a super cool project he was working on.

Playing with lighting.

Big Red!

Daniel took the first three pictures, and I took the last three.  Sadly my one of Santi is a little blurry, but I still like it.  We've almost got another roll finished to develop so hopefully I'll have more to share soon.

Thrifting.

Daniel and I went thrifting last weekend in search of a double edged razor for him.  We found one, but didn't end up buying it.  We also found some other great treasures...

Three stories of thrift store and  antiques!

I've always wanted one of these phones, not to mention a lovely mint colored one!  Too bad not too many people have land lines anymore.

Any one need a ride?

Cool clock.

A lady shaver for  all your lady shaving needs.

This is a Big Bertha if I've ever seen one.

This guy was huge!

Everyone loves the Beatles right?

Classy cat eyes.

Teeny tiny foods.

Selena Barbie!!  Every little brown girl from the nineties' dream.

Old tin type photos.  Really cool, but makes me a bit sad to see people's old photos in a thrift  store.

And I'll leave you with... the creepiest doll I've ever seen!

Well there you have it, thrift land adventure.
I basically failed at photo-a-day.  But I'm still going to try to do at least a post a week.

Life update:  Graduated from college, looking for some "grown up" jobs, and mostly just enjoying my summer.

Hope you all are enjoying your summers too!

Throwbacks.

In three weeks I'll be graduating from the University of New Mexico.  So, in the spirit of graduation I thought it'd be interesting and fun to post my senior pictures from high school.  :)

My grandma really wanted one that looked like those beginning credits from a spanish telenovela.  So this one was for her.

A subtle ode to flamenco.

The famous side smile!

Well, hope you enjoyed those as much as I did when I found them.  Photo-a-day to recommence after graduation.  Who knew that your last semester would be so busy...

Photo-a-day, 71-76 (New Orleans Edition)

3.14.12  71/365
The Great Mississippi.

3.15.12  72/365
Cutest little building ever!  Really reminded me of 12 Grimmauld Place...

3.16.12  73/365
Jellyfish.

3.17.12  74/365
Daniel and I found a four leaf clover on St. Patrick's day.  If that isn't lucky, I don't know what is...

3.18.12  75/365
Super scary abandoned catholic school.  Probably left abandoned after the hurricane?

3.19.12  76/365
Cafe Du Monde.  They only served chicory coffee and beignets.  Beignets are like a sopapilla outside and a fluffy doughnut inside with LOTS of powdered sugar.  They were pretty delish.  And super messy.  But totally worth it.

More New Orleans pictures to come.  Also, I never mentioned this, but if you ever want to see any of the pictures bigger, you can just click on them.  Sometimes I think that might help; in this post especially with the jellyfish picture.  Thanks for looking!  :)

Daniel and I bought a couple of Japanese beers from Jubilation.  This little guy's sweet sumo ass graced one of the cans.

70/365

Daniel put his work up at a local pizzeria, Slice Parlor.  If you want to see more of his awesome work, you can see it here.

This week for spring break Daniel is off to the SGC (Southern Graphics Council) conference in New Orleans, Louisiana.  And I'll be tagging along!  So, next week when I get back I'll hopefully have plenty of New Orleans photos for you folks.  So stay tuned!
